to the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (the "Commission")
Web site. The Commission is responsible for the
regulation and supervision of non-banking financial
services in Vanuatu. The regulation and supervision
of insurance business, investment business and trust
and company service providers is undertaken by the
Commission.
The Commission
has additional responsibilities as tasked with the
development of the financial services industry in
Vanuatu. While keen to promote the financial centre
facilities, the Commission has an unwavering
commitment to ensure that the reputation and
integrity of the Centre is maintained. Accordingly,
international standards have been adopted for
insurance, investment business and trust and company
service providers sectors.
The Commissioner has additional responsibilities as
the Registrar of Companies, Charitable
Organizations, UK Patents, UK Trademarks, Credit
Unions, Trade Unions, Commissioner of Insurance and
Controller of Stamp Duties.
We believe the current overhaul [
began in 2003 ] of the Centre legislative framework
will enhance both the reputation of Vanuatu as an
international finance centre and investor confidence
in our jurisdiction.
We welcome suggestions to improve the Website and if
there is any additional information you should
require, please do contact us and we will try our
best to assist you.
I
